For this slimline teacher appreciation card, I created a classroom-inspired chalkboard design with a colorful stack of books and a large “Thank You for Helping Me Grow” sentiment.
To create the chalkboard background, I dipped a paper towel into white pigment ink and lightly swiped it across the black panel. This added soft, uneven white marks and gave the panel a worn chalkboard look. I adhered the black panel onto a kraft card base, leaving a narrow border around it to create the illusion of a wooden frame.
The large sentiment was created with the Papertrey Ink To Die For Sentiments: Grow Die. I added the small apple inside the sentiment to bring in a bright pop of color and connect it with the teacher theme.
For the stack of books, I used the Papertrey Ink Storybook Teacher Mini Stamp Set to stamp the books and their different teacher-themed messages. The coordinating book shapes were die-cut using the Papertrey Ink Storybook Christmas Die Set.
The small glasses and apple were die-cut using the Papertrey Ink Storybook Teacher Die. I also added the ruler beside the books to complete the classroom-inspired arrangement.
The colorful stamped elements stand out against the black chalkboard background, while the kraft border helps finish the look of a framed classroom chalkboard.
This card would work well for Teacher Appreciation Week, the end of the school year, or as a thank-you card for a special teacher.
