LAYERED FRAME AND APOTHECARY JAR VINTAGE CARD

My first card uses a few lovely pieces from the new release — the Mini Delight: Apothecary Garden Stamp & Die Set, the Traces Of Yesterday 3D Embossing Folder, and the frame from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Frozen Moments — and I combined them to build a layered card with a gentle vintage feel.

This card has a soft vintage feel, which I achieved through both my product choices and a muted, earthy color palette. I started with Crafty Necessities: Marshland Cardstock, using it for the background, frame, and several supporting elements to keep the look cohesive.

The background panel was embossed with the Traces Of Yesterday 3D Embossing Folder, then ink blended with Marshland and Sea Forest Fresh Dye Ink from the Nature’s Wonders Fresh Dye Ink Set. I kept the blending heavier along the bottom with the darker Sea Forest ink and lighter toward the top using Marshland, then gently swiped both inks across the raised embossing to highlight the texture and add a weathered, timeworn look.

To finish the background, I added ink splatters using leftover ink from my craft mat mixed with a bit of water, which helped reinforce that aged, etched effect.

For the frame, I used the die and embossing folder from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Frozen Moments. The process of die cutting the frame first and then embossing it creates an incredibly realistic result — one of those pieces that instantly makes you pause and admire it.

I layered several die cuts from brown cardstock to add thickness and stability, then topped everything with a Marshland cardstock frame.

Behind it, I added a stamped apothecary jar from the Mini Delight Apothecary Garden Stamp Set, which became the focal point of the card.

The floral elements were die cut from Crafty Necessities: Vineyard Berry, Reindeer Moss, and Espresso Cardstock, assembled into a small bouquet, and tied at the top to resemble a vintage botanical specimen.

I finished the card with a simple Thanks sentiment from the same set, stamped onto a Crafty Necessities: Vineyard Berry strip and popped up with black foam adhesive for subtle dimension.

DIE-CUT SUNFLOWER CARD WITH GOLD DIMENSIONAL OVAL FRAME

For my second card, I really wanted to highlight the beautiful Craft-A-Flower: Sunflowers Die Set. I also couldn’t resist reaching again for the gorgeous frame from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Frozen Moments. I already mentioned in my first card how much I love these frames — they look so realistic and elegant — and honestly, using it just once wasn’t enough, so I had to feature it again.

I started the card by working on the background. I trimmed a panel from Crafty Necessities: Marshland Cardstock and dry embossed it using the Paper Echoes Stencil, which creates a soft script/text texture. After embossing, I added some shading with Sea Forest and Mangrove Root Fresh Dye Ink from the Nature’s Wonders Fresh Dye Ink Set, blending the inks heavier toward the bottom and keeping the top lighter. To finish it off, I splattered the same inks across the panel to add a bit more interest and give the background a slightly aged, imperfect look.

Next, I moved on to the sunflower. I die cut all the pieces from Crafty Necessities: Maple Yellow and Honey Drizzle Cardstock for the petals, Crafty Necessities: Espresso and Dark Chocolate Cardstock for the center, and Crafty Necessities: Reindeer Moss Cardstock for the leaves. After cutting everything, I assembled the layers to create a nice dimensional flower.

For the frame, I chose the oval design from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Frozen Moments. To make it sturdy and dimensional, I die cut the shape five or six times from brown cardstock and once from Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock. I even ran the gold layer through an embossing folder to add extra texture and make it look more realistic. Then I stacked and adhered all the layers together with the gold piece on top.

To assemble the card, I adhered the frame onto the background and placed the sunflower into the lower part of the oval. For the sentiment, I used one from Gold Foil Sentiment Strips 3, which were created with Macogany Bark Fresh Dye Ink, I think it blends well with the warm color palette.

Finally, I finished the card with a few Stellar Sequins – Champagne, scattering different sizes around the focal point to balance the design and add a subtle sparkle.

I really love how this card turned out — the warm kraft tones, textured background, gold accents, and layered sunflower all come together for a cozy, rustic look that still feels elegant and dimensional.
