SWEET APRICOTS

I rarely create cards without reaching for ink—whether for stamping or blending. But the Sweet Apricots Layering Die Set inspired me to break from my usual routine and go fully ink-free.

Paired with the Versatile Greetings 3 – Comfort Edition, this card came together entirely with die-cutting and layering alone.

To build the apricot tree branch, I die-cut the individual elements from Crafty Necessities: Blush, Maple Yellow, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Hunter Green, Milk Chocolate, and Espresso Cardstock.

These warm, earthy shades captured the soft ripeness of apricots and the richness of leafy branches.

I assembled the die-cut layers by gluing each set flat, following the layering guides.

As I constructed the branch, I used a combination of thin and regular black adhesive foam squares to help position and support the elements at the same level.

This subtle layering added structure without overwhelming the clean, minimal look.

For the sentiment, I die-cut the layered word from white and Crafty Necessities: Autumn Blaze Cardstock using the Versatile Greetings 3 – Comfort Edition.

Like the branch, I popped up the sentiment using a mix of thin and regular black foam squares for depth and balance.

To create the background, I reached for a kraft panel and dry embossed it using the Heritage Chevron Weaves Stencil. This simple texture brought warmth and a hint of rustic coziness to the card—without needing any ink at all.

As a final touch, I added a few Desert Dream Enamel Dots to echo the warm tones in the design and subtly fill in the composition.

BUILD-A-GARDEN: RADIANT BLOSSOMS

The focal point of my second card features the Build-A-Garden: Radiant Blossoms Bundle. For this design, I chose to stick with a warm color palette—orange, pink, and kraft—similar to my first card.

If you’ve visited my blog before, you might’ve noticed that I often use the same color scheme across all my cards for a single release. That’s a conscious choice. Not only does it help create a cohesive look in photos, but it also challenges me to explore different ways to use the same palette creatively.

I used the Red Cosmos, Warm and Cozy, and Green Meadows Fresh Dye Inks to color the daisy cluster through the coordinating Build-A-Garden: Radiant Blossoms Coloring Stencil.

The outlines of the floral image were stamped in Espresso Fresh Dye Ink, which felt like a softer, more complementary alternative to black—perfect for the warm, kraft-toned look I was going for.

The basket image, also from the set, was stamped using the same Espresso Fresh Dye Ink and then colored with the Coffee Break Fresh Dye Inks to give it a natural woven texture.

To build the background, I reached for the Heritage Chevron Weaves Stencil and once again used inks from the Coffee Break collection.

I blended the color starting from the bottom of the panel, gradually fading it out toward the center to create a soft gradient that doesn’t overpower the main elements.

To tie the cluster and basket together visually, I traced the white die-cut edges of the daisy cluster with the Milk Chocolate Artist Marker, giving it a more finished and grounded look.

Both the floral cluster and the basket were then popped up with foam squares for added dimension.

I created the sentiment using the coordinating stamps and dies from the Radiant Blossoms bundle and finished off the card with a few Dessert Dreams Enamel Dots for a polished touch.

MAGICAL PEONY

For this card, I worked with the Magical Peony Bundle, which features a beautifully detailed, large peony that makes for a stunning focal point. I continued with the pink and kraft color scheme I used throughout this release to ensure all my projects looked cohesive when photographed together.

I started by impressing the floral image using the Magical Peony Press Plate and Espresso Fresh Dye Ink onto a white cardstock panel.

I love using Espresso for outlines when I want a softer look that blends nicely with warmer tones like kraft.

Next, I brought the peony to life with the Magical Peony Simple Coloring Stencil Set, using the Red Cosmos Fresh Dye Inks to add rich pink shades to the petals. These layering stencils make it easy to add dimension and depth without spending too much time on coloring.

To create a masked background effect, I pressed the peony image onto a sheet of masking paper and carefully fussy cut around it. I then placed this mask over the colored peony and ink-blended the surrounding area using Rocky Shore Fresh Dye Ink, creating the illusion of a kraft-toned background while keeping the flower clean and vibrant.

To add a bit more visual interest, I flicked on some brown ink splatters across the background. This subtle texture helped tie everything together and kept the card from looking too flat.

For the sentiment, I turned to the Versatile Greetings 3 Comfort Edition Bundle, cutting it from coordinating cardstock and popping it up with foam adhesive. The sentiment strip was adhered over the flower, while the entire panel was foam-mounted onto a white card base for a clean and finished look.

This card came together with just a few key elements and no actual stamping—yet it still feels detailed and complete, thanks to the press plate and stencil combo.
