CHERRY BLOSSOM & OLD CITY DOORS

I created this spring card using two newly released subscription products — Craft-A-Flower: Cherry Blossom Branch and Creative Cuts: Old City Doors — but with an unexpected color combination of blue and brown rather than traditional pinks and greens.

I often enjoy using non-traditional colors for my card elements, and this time, I also wanted to highlight the beautiful new Fresh Dye Inks released this month.

For the cherry blossom branch, I die cut the petals from white cardstock and shaded them with Blue Horizon Fresh Dye Ink. The branch, leaves, and flower centers were cut from Crafty Necessities: Espresso Cardstock to provide a rich contrast.

The door elements were all die cut from white cardstock and colored using the Marine Life Fresh Dye Inks Bundle, giving them a beautifully bold look.

For the background panel, I used Crafty Necessities: Sand Dunes Cardstock and embossed it with the Masonry Wall 3D Embossing Folder to create a stone-like texture. To enhance the dimension, I lightly blended Cocoa Cream Fresh Dye Ink over the raised areas.

The sentiment, die-cut using the Scripted Sentiments Die Set, features a layered look with the top piece inked in Choco Hazelnut Fresh Dye Ink for added depth.

To bring the design together, I added brown splatters to both the background and the cherry blossom branch, then finished the card with a few Dessert Dreams Enamel Dots for a delicate touch.

VINTAGE-INSPIRED MINI ENVELOPE CARD WITH DIE-CUT FLORALS & WAX SEALS

For my second card, I combined the Fun Little Envelopes Die Set with the Zero-Waste: Berry and Branches Die, creating a charming arrangement of mini envelopes filled with delicate die-cut foliage.

The Fun Little Envelopes Die Set allows you to create adorable foldable envelopes, and I crafted three different ones, embellishing them with berries and branches cut using the Zero-Waste Die.

To bring everything to life, I die-cut all elements from white cardstock and colored them with ink blending, using fresh shades from the Dessert Dreams, Marine Life, Tropical Tango, and Citrus Punch Fresh Dye Ink Bundles.

To add a vintage touch, I softly blended Raw Amber Fresh Dye Ink around the edges of the envelopes. I also used the same ink to enhance the background panel created with the Zero-Waste: Berry and Branches Die.

Once the background panel was adhered to a white card base, I arranged and popped up the envelopes for dimension.

Next, I tucked the die-cut branches into each envelope, giving the design a whimsical, organic feel. To enhance the elegance, I added a couple of wax seals made with the Mini Bow Wax Seal Stamp and Rose Gold & Haze Blue Wax Beads.

For the sentiment, I once again used the Scripted Sentiments Die Set, keeping the design cohesive.

Finally, I completed the card with a touch of Marine Life, Tropical Tango, and Citrus Punch Enamel Dots, adding just the right amount of color and shine.
