PEONY & LILAC SWAG

I used the Peony & Lilac Swag Bundle to create this bold floral card. This set contains a large floral swag which I used for floral elements and background.

After stamping the swag onto a white cardstock I colored it coloring using the stencil from the bundle as well as pink and teal inks (linked below if you’re interested in the exact colors I used, but of course, you can use the inks you already have).

I only needed to color one swag, which was enough to fill up the whole card.  It was die-cut,  cut into several pieces, and foam-mounted onto the background after that.

To make the background, first I made the “color cardstock”, swiping the Raspberry Sunset Fresh Dye Ink Pad all around a white panel until I colored in completely.

Next, I clear embossed the swag onto a red cardstock and colored it with the same ink. There is not extreme difference between the cardstock base color and the areas what I colored through the stencil. Which is exactly what I was going for, I wanted to make an interesting background and add some deepness to the design, without overwhelming it and dragging attention from the floral elements.

The sentiment I made using a stamp from the same set. I made the “color cardstock” the same way as I did the background and then white embossed the sentiment onto it. Followed by die-cutting it using the matching die.

All elements were foam-mounted onto the background using black adhesive foam squares. The background in turn was foam-mounted onto a white card base using Instant Dimension Foam Tape.

Several Red Jasper Gem Crystals finished off the card.
