CONTEMPORARY COLORED FLORAL CARD

I like using contemporary color palettes for my cards, it’s an effortless way to add interest to a card. I was using the new Dynamic Duo: Painted Blossoms & Add-On Die Bundle to create an unusual card with soft brown flowers and pink leaves of the floral element.

The Rocky Shore, Mocha, and Espresso Fresh Dye Inks were used for flowers. I used Coral Berry, Ruby Red, and Grapevine Fresh Dye Inks to create leaves. The stenciled floral element was die-cut using the add-on die.

For the background, I ink-blended Ruby Red, and Grapevine Fresh Dye Inks along the right side of a white panel. Adding water splatters onto the ink blending for additional texture.

I popped up the floral element onto the background panel and sprinkled it with brown and pink. After that, the panel was foam-mounted onto a Parchment card base.

The sentiment piece was made by white embossing onto a white cardstock and then the Espresso Fresh Dye Ink Pad was swiped all over it to color the background. I sometimes use this trick to “create” color cardstock 100% matching the stamped or stenciled elements of my card.

Several Crystal Clear Enamel Dots were added to accentuate the card.

PARTIAL DIE-CUT FLORAL CARD

I used the new Stencil Art: Amorous Dream & Add-On Die Bundle for my next floral card, which also follows a bit unusual color scheme. This time I made it in blue-brown, one of my favorite combinations.

After stenciling the floral onto a white card base I partially die-cut it using the matching die.

I made the background panel by ink-blending the Mocha and Espresso Fresh Dye Inks onto a white panel, followed by popping up the floral panel onto it. I added some brown splatters onto both panels after that.

I adhered the bottom panel onto a white card base flat, to avoid too much volume.

The sentiment was made by white embossing onto Parchment Cardstock.

The sentiment was popped up onto the card and several Sweet Dreams Enamel Dots were added to the card to finish it off.

FAUX DENIM CARD

The last card I’m sharing today features a faux denim background, which I got the idea for from the new Essential Textures: Rustic Burlap Press Plate. This plate can be used to imitate the burlap background (hence the name), but I thought it would be interesting to create a denim background using it.

First, I ink-blended Persian Blue and Sapphire Fresh Dye Inks onto a white panel, doing more heavy hand blending towards the panel edges and leaving the center much lighter. Next, I added the denim texture with said press plate and Cloud White Fresh Dye Ink.

I also wrapped the panel with natural jute twine at the top and the bottom to add to the denim vibe. After that, it was foam-mounted onto a Parchment card base.

To make the leaf branches and the sentiment I used the Rustling Leaves Bundle. For the outline parts, I used the Rustling Leaves Press Plate Set, which were then colored using the Rustling Leaves Simple Coloring Stencil and die-cut with the coordinating die.

I used the Coffee Break and Martian Terrain Fresh Dye Ink Bundles for this part of the card.

To finish off the card I added several Martian Terrain Enamel Dots.
