CARD

I had a blast playing with the new awesome watercolor tubes. I’m not a fine artist by any means, but I do like using watercoloring for my cards. And working with these watercolors was so fun and (what is more important) so easy.

I watercolored the large floral from the Courageous You Stamp Set as the main character of my card, which I white embossed onto a sheet of Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper.

For the orange-yellow flowers (the one towards the bottom) I used the Permanent Yellow Deep for the yellow tips and a mix of Permanent Yellow Deep and Toluidine Red for the orange petal bases.

For the red-yellow flower, I used the Permanent Yellow Deep and Toluidine Red.

I was mixing the Permanent Yellow Deep and Phthalo Green when was coloring the leaves.

The area around the floral element I colored by mixing Phthalo Green and Prussian Blue.

I also added white splatters with the Titanium White Watercolor.

The sentiment was made using the One-Go Greetings Stamp & Die Bundle. I white embossed it onto a Parchment Cardstock strip. I used the same cardstock to make the card base. The watercolored piece was foam mounted onto the card base. Followed by popping up the sentiment on top.

In general, I want to say that I’m more than happy with this new product. Both the hot-pressed watercolor paper and new watercolor tubes were such a pleasure to work with. As I mentioned above, I’m not a fine artist and I’m not experienced with watercoloring. Hence, sometimes I struggle to achieve the result I’m aiming for. It wasn’t the case for these wonderful tubes, no struggle whatsoever!

This is the first release of this product and more colors will be released in the future. The colors available today are on the brighter side. But if you want to get a bit muted colors you can achieve it by mixing watercolors. Like for example I wanted the leaves to be not bright green, but rather towards sage color. So I was mixing yellow and green to get the color I need.
