Altenew | Rustic Vibes Zinnia Flower Card

Hi everyone,

Today I want to share a card with some rustic vibes featuring a very cool Craft-A-Flower: Zinnia Layering Die Set.

Creating the Zinnia Dimensional Flowers

I started making the card by creating dimensional flowers using the Craft-A-Flower: Zinnia Layering Die Set.

First, I die-cut all flower layers out of Watercolor Paper. Then, I colored all layers using the Woodless Watercolor Pencils.

I  tend to reach for these coloring tools quite often recently. They’re very fun and easy to use. Especially, I like using them when need to apply pigment to a specific area and/or when I don’t want to use a lot of water to do watercoloring.

In this case, the flower layers and leaves have debossed design elements, and adding lots of water could cause this design to “disappear”.

When I finished coloring I assembled the flowers by adhering their layers using liquid adhesive.

Adding the Rustic Vibes

Next, I moved on to making the background. That’s where I added those “rustic vibes”. I used a background stamp from the Rustic Linen Stamp Set to stamp onto a Parchment Cardstock panel, using the Mocha Dye Ink for stamping.

Additionally, I tore the panel’s bottom edge to bring more rustic vibes.

I adhered the floral elements onto the panel, using both liquid and dimensional adhesive, and added some black splatters onto them.

Finishing Touches

Next, I wrapped a red jute twine around the panel and foam-mounted it onto a Parchment Cardstock card base.

As far as the card base goes – I blended Espresso Dye Ink onto it to make it a bit darker than the panel. I did a gradient ink blending with the bolder part in the bottom part of the card base.

Lastly, I popped up a sentiment strip onto the card which was made using the One-Go Birthday Greetings Stamp & Die Bundle.
