Hello friends!
Do you like the rustic style? I do pretty much. Especially in wedding decor. Although let’s face it, any style of wedding decor if made tasteful looks awesome. And it’s a great source of inspiration. Today I want to share a couple of wedding cards inspired by the rustic style.
FLORAL ARCH
Arch is a classic wedding object and I think it looks quite appropriate.
I created it by die-cutting out of a Woodgrain Bark Cardstock using the Rainbow Arches Die Set. The leafy arch die-cuts were made out of 2 pieces of green cardstock of lighter and darker shade and stacked with a slight shift.
Using the Tiny Blooms Stamp and Die sets I made a lot of flowers by white embossing them onto the same green cardstock I used for the leafy frame and die-cut them. After that, they adhered onto the arch.
I used a patterned paper with a woodgrain design for my panel, which I wrapped with green jute twine. After that, the panel was foam mounted onto a Rustic White card base.
Lastly, I popped up the sentiment which I white embossed onto green cardstock and cut out using my favorite scissors.
MR & MRS CHAIRS
For my next card, I used another classic wedding scene – Mr & Mrs chairs. I used an awesome Just Married Stamp Set to make it.
I like stamps of realistic designs and this one is one of those. And when it comes to being realistic – I tend to go all the way trying to provide as realistic element as possible. For example in the case of the chairs and chair signs I wanted to replicate a wooden look if possible. Which I did by stamping them onto a Cherry and Birch Wood Paper correspondingly (I’m talking about the paper which is real wood, the thinnest wood slices made into the paper). For added realism, I also made these elements dimensional by die-cutting their shape 5-6 times out of brown and kraft cardstock and stacking die-cuts using a liquid adhesive.
The garland was made using the Winter Woodlands Stamp and Die Sets. First I made a die-cut out of a Rustic White Cardstock. Then I clear embossed the “bulbs” of the garland using the Iridescent Sparkle Embossing Powder and then stamped the strings on top in green.
As far as the background goes – I blended the Bundled Sage Distress Ink in the top part of a Rustic Cream cards base, doing a more heavy-handed ink blending in the very top part and lightening it towards the card base middle. After that, I sprinkled it with water using my Distress Sprayer. I wanted the ink splatters to be as tiny as possible. To achieve that I sprinkled the water into the air and quickly moved the card into the “splatters cloud”. Kinda the “spritz and step” way of applying perfume.
I adhered the chairs onto the card, followed by adhering Mr and Mrs signs on top. The garland was foam mounted in the top part of the card base. I also added stamped in green and die-cut floral elements to the chairs and finished off the card by stamping the sentiment in the bottom part.
I really like how these cards turned out. And I really like how brown and these shade of green look together. Should make a mental note to use this color combo again soon.
Have a wonderful day!
