Hello crafty friends!
Are you still making Halloween projects? Although this year Halloween is a bit questionable of course. No parties, no trick-or-treating. But we still can send cards and do presents for friends and family. And watch scary movies.
Even though I live in the USA now I was born and raised in Ukraine and back there we don’t celebrate Halloween. It was an alien holiday for me when I just moved here but it took only a couple of years for me to start loving it. Now Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I already developed some traditions.
I usually re-watch Supernatural in October. This part of my Halloween plans goes according to schedule. The last week of October my hubby and I have movie nights watching something scary. As far as Halloween candies go – we don’t have much trick-or-treaters in our building (many tenants don’t celebrate this tradition), but we still buy candies as I am the one who etas them lol. This thing also goes strong now. But with Halloween décor I’m a bit behind the schedule. Still have the fall one. Fingers crossed will put it up this weekend.
And of course as a cardmaker I enjoy playing with spooky products. Today I want to share a couple of Halloween projects featuring Spellbinders Halloween Collection by Becca Feeken.
SPOOKY HOUSE TREAT BOX
My first project is a cute spooky house.
Which also serves as a goodie box.
When it comes to Halloween colors in home decor mostly I lean towards simple and elegant black and white scheme. Which I used to make this house.
Using the box die from the Charming Cottage Box Etched Dies I made two die-cuts out of a white cardstock and adhered them together side by side.
I didn’t assemble the house completely on that point. I just laid it flat so it was more convenient to adhere all elements onto it.
Next I die-cut the elements using the Spooky Boo Dies, Spooky Cottage Dies and Charming Cottage Box Dies (to die-cut the roof tiles) out of a black and white cardstock.
Each window and door I die-cut twice – out of a white and black cardstock.
After I had all elements ready I started adhering them onto the box.
I scored the tree die-cuts and adhered them onto the box corners.
It added interest and allowed more space for other elements on each side.
After all elements were adhered I assembled the box by gluing together two sides and the bottom.
The dies from the collection are spooky but elegant and I think black and white color combo suits them well.
HALLOWEEN CARD
And of course also you need a Halloween card to go with a goodie box. Which I made in almost the same color scheme, spicing it up a bit by adding more color.
I die-cut spiders and bats using dies from the Spooky Boo Dies and Spooky Cottage Dies out of a gray cardstock. I also die-cut two spiderwebs and 4 spider lines out of a white cardstock.
Next I build the background by adhering spiders, bats, spiderwebs and lines onto a black panel. Which after that I foam mounted onto a white card base.
After that I die cut a vellum panel using a die from the Nested Clipped Panels Dies and words for the sentiment using the Spooky Boo Dies out of a white and orange cardstock.
I adhered the words onto the vellum piece. Which in turn was adhered onto the card.

What a great Halloween Treat box! I would save it to use as a decoration each year. Very sad that we won’t be handing out trick or treat candy this year. I finally put fall decorations up this morning!
