CARD

I’m featuring an easy chalkboard technique using the new Paint-A-Flower product. This technique is quite simple and not very time consuming. It’s not exactly very quick, this is definitely not 10 minutes card. I would say it’s an average card in terms of the time spent.

One important tool you need to have for this technique is a stamp positioning tool. I was using my mini MISTI, but any positioning tool would work.

First I stamped an image in the top left corner of a white card base using my mini MISTI using the Permanent Black Dye Ink Pad. I left the stamp mounted in the tool and proceed with coloring the image. Which I did using the Artist Markers. I did quite basic coloring as for this technique you don’t need a superb one really.

After that I did the same in the right bottom corner of the panel. I simply rotated the panel and stamped the image (which was still mounted in the MISTI) in the same spot of the opposite corner. Then it was colored with the Artist Markers.

Next I colored the area around the colored stamps with the Jet Black Watercolor Marker. I decided to using the watercolor marker versus an alcohol one as the last could bleed into the colored image which I didn’t want to happen. Also as i was covering quite a large area with it doing it with watercolor marker was a cheaper option.

After that I stamped over the images with the white pigment ink (the stamp still was mounted inside the MISTI).

To create the chalkboard look I rubbed the whole panel with a paper towel which previously I inked with the white ink. It helped to cover any unevenness I had in coloring the panel with black and also hid imperfections of coloring the image.

Lastly I popped up a sentiment strip which I did by white embossing stamps from the Birthday Builder Stamp Set onto a black strip.
