Simon Says Stamp | Simple Masculine Birthday Card

The newest Simon Says Stamp release Lucky to Know You is here! WooHoo! It’s packed with Spring themed images and I’m sure many of you are in the Spring mode for a long time by now 🙂

I want to share a simple masculine birthday card made with the Die Set from this release – CZ Design Happy Birthday. The set has two dies – one die cuts a connected happy birthday sentiment and another one that die cuts the sentiment outline (or shadow if you will).

For my card I choose gray and gold color scheme/ I’m on a gold kick recently and this combination reminds me Art Deco in a way, which I love.

First I made the dimensional sentiment for my card by die cutting 6 times the sentiment out of a gray cardstock and one time out of a gold one. Then I stacked all the die cuts using a liquid adhesive.

After that I dry emboss the sentiment outline into a gray cardstock panel and them adhered the sentiment in the middle of the embossed area.

Next I adhered the panel onto a gold panel of a bigger size and then foam mounted this framed piece onto a gray card base.

Lastly I added several Gold Crystals.

I like this new sentiment a lot. Clean, simple and quite universal. I see it working with any card of any style. I wanted to create something more “severe” in a way as an inspiration and idea for masculine cards. I know many struggle with such cards. And with Father’s Day coming some time soon the need of such cards increases.
