Quickly popping in to share a card made with this month’s Spellbinders Small Die Of The Month – Home for the Holidays.
With the set you can make projects for different occasions. Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday (defined by an object in the lady’s hands. It can be used for invitations as well.
I decided to make a Thanksgiving card. And I decided to make a Pilgrim lady. By choosing a modest black and white outfit. Well… I’m not exactly sure that I ended up making a Pilgrim. It looks rather like a maid. Which of course also can be appropriate I think (at least in Gilmore Girls grandparents house it is lol).
So I made the lady and pumpkin pie by die cutting parts from different color cardstock pieces and adhering them to make the image.
I die cut arms twice out of beige and black cardstock, then I cut off hand parts from the black die cuts and adhered them on top of beige ones. Making sleeves this way.
To make the headwear of the lady I die cut two hair elements out of white and adhered onto her brown hair (with slight shift). I also made a scalloped decoration using the “whip cream on a pie) die.
Using dies from the Die Set I make a scalloped round frame. Then I adhered the lady onto a light blue card base followed by adhering the frame on top.
Quick tip: decide on the design of hi card before hi spend 20 minutes die cutting and assembling legs to cut them off the lady as you don’t want them to be peeking out below the frame.
I also die cut leaves using the Wreath Elements Die Set and sentiment using the Blessings Vine Frame Die Set out of a orange cardstock and adhered them onto the panel. Which in turn was adhered onto a white card base.
