Hello friends!
The last October I shared a couple of cards made with a Spellbinders Large Die Kit of that month – awesome pickup truck. This set is probably one of my favorite Spellbinders Die Set. And I’m not the only one. Due to its popularity Spellbinders brought it back to the store and also released an add on die set with various sentiments, perfect for pretty much any kind of card – So Many Sentiments Die Set.
I was so excited to play with this product again and today I want to share two cards made using it.
BEACH CARD
I will be honest – I hate hot weather. And for me hot weather starts from like 18°C (64°F). I’m also not a huge fan of the sun. I do like crispy sunny WINTER day, colorful sunny fall day. But in other seasons the sun equals “hot” – so I dislike it a lot. This may probably sound weird, but if I wake up on a Spring or Summer day and see sun rays coming through my window blinds – it kills my mood immediately (on contrary I LOVE gloomy cloudy gray weather). Moreover, I dislike all things associated with the sun, summer and hot weather – beaches, tropical cocktails, all those summer commercials you see from everywhere this time of year…
Which this being said – my first card to share with you today is a beach one. In cardmaking I developer an ability to be inspired and have fun playing with images and topic I dislike (or even hate) in real life.
Let’s talk about the card. I went with very clean, graphic, vintage poster looking design. Purposely I didn’t use anything but dies and paper to make this card (and adhesive of course). It’s nice sometimes to make a card without pulling out inks and stamps. And you don’t need to clean stamps after that (but on the other hand you end up with a huge mess of die-cut leftovers lol).
I made the truck in mint-white color scheme, added a couple of bright surfing boards and a ball. Made a sentiment using the new So Many Sentiments Die Set.
Next I die-cut a huge sun out of an orange cardstock using the Circle Around Die Set and adhered it onto a light blue card base.
Lastly I popped the truck onto the card.
WEDDING CARD
For the second card I choose a wedding theme. I made the truck in white and gray color wave. A vellum is used for the window. I choose congrats sentiment from the new die set.
I added some floral elements to the truck cargo area.
Also I die-cut the Blessings Vine Frame out of white and gave it a “haircut” by cutting off some leaves to make it more open. I then adhered it onto a rustic cream card base. I took some cut off leaves and tucked them under the frame elements.
Lastly I foam mounted the truck onto the card.
