Another beautiful flower set is released today – Build-A-Flower Snapdragon!
The new flower is quite realistic and very easy to align. You can make two different flowers using this set.
I started by die-cutting each flower out of a white cardstock several times. Next I stamped the elements of the flowers onto the die-cuts. I used MISTI for stamping and die-cuts were inlaid in their negative space which were fixed in the MISTI. For obvious reasons – to only align each layer once and then just replace die-cuts and stamp.
The inks I used are listed below. For the red flowers I wanted them to be deep red and I to do so I used the darkest reds from the Altenew family (Ruby Red and Grapevine) along with the Dark Chocolate Ink for the top layer.
I alternated ink colors to make a variety of flowers. As far as flower blooms go I did them in pink and red. And I did the green parts in two shades of green.
I made a card base out of a Real Gray Cardstock and stamped the Rustic Linen Background onto it using the Charcoal Suit Dye Ink.
After that I adhered all flowers onto the card.
I made a white embossed on black sentiment using the Birthday Builder Stamp Set, which I fussy cut with my scissors. Recently I got hooked on this type of sentiment and you can see it on almost all my cards.
I popped the sentiment onto the card and lastly added several Onyx and Cupid’S Kiss Crystals.
I like how bright flowers look against a bit brutal background.
