Papertrey Ink | Layered Fall Foliage Card

Hello friends!

I love everything about fall, anything you can name. Gorgeous fall foliage would be on anyone’s list, but I also love rain. When it comes to fall cards one of my to-go recipes is replicating the look of wet fall leaves after rain. Today I want to share such card featuring Papertrey Ink products.

I used Prosperous Leaves Background Stamp to create the leafy background, which I stamped in orange onto a Stamper’s Select White Cardstock. Then I covered it with clear embossing to add “wet” shine as well as protect from the ink blending I did later.

As for the ink blending, I blended the Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto the panel using the Tonic Studios Nuvo Dual Tipped Blender Brushes, sprinkled it with water, and blotted it to get this watery texture.

Next, I die cut the On The Border: Leaves Die out of a Perfect Match: Orange Zest Cardstock. The design of this die is similar to the Prosperous Leaves Background Stamp I used on the previous step and they’re meant to be used together.

The Prosperous Leaves Background Stamp is narrower than the On The Border: Leaves Die, so I made the orange leafy die-cut narrower to match the background size.

I cut apart the die-cut into two parts making cuts on the smaller (vertical) sides. Then I adhered both pieces onto the panel. In the areas where they overlapped, I hid the cut edges under the orange twine.

To add “wet” and shiny look to the orange die-cut I also covered it with a clear glitter brush pen.

The panel was foam mounted onto a Paper Basics – Rustic White Cardstock card base and a white embossed onto a black strip sentiment was popped up on top.

And of course you cannot create a wet-after-rain look without some rain drops on the leaves. Which I did by adhering some Rainstones onto the card.
