Hi friends!
Today I want to show two fun projects using an older (April 2019) Large Die from Spellbinders- For You Gift Card Holder.
With this set you can make a gift card holder in a shape of a gift bag. How awesome is it? I love replicating real life things in my projects and this time of course I chose to replicate real gift bags. I’m a sucker of interesting gift packaging. Not like I do it myself very often (never have time for this). But I admire seeing the examples online, pinning them and promising to do so myself one day.
Well at least I made them in a smaller size of gift holders. You can see that both are Christmas ones.
SANTA’S SUIT
For my first holder I choose to make a Santa’s costume imitation. I made the holder out of a red cardstock. Then I die cut a belt buckle out of gold cardstock using two rectangle dies from the Scored And Pierced Rectangles Die Set.
After that I cut a black strip for the belt and white one for the white fur trim.
I adhered them all onto the gift bag.
Next I die cut a white tag using a die from the set in question and for the sentiment I used a die from the So Many Sentiments Die Set.
The insert into the bag I die cut out of red as well. I don’t have any gift cards in my life at the moment so I inserted a plastic card of the same size as an example.
I also made several “tissue” paper die cuts out of an actual tissue paper (by folding it several times and die cutting just once with the die – it totally die cuts through many layers of a tissue paper).
For each folder piece I used two pieces of a tissue paper. And I made three folded pieces to “insert” into the holder.
KRAFT GIFT BAG
Back to my obsession with gift packaging. I ADORE simple kraft gift bags with added natural elements to them. Like pine branch or other greenery item appropriate for the season.
So I made my holder out of a kraft cardstock. Then I added a white spray splatters (I almost never can make anything kraft without white splatters). The bag handles I die cut out of white. I also die cut a white sentiment from the and adhered it in the bag bottom.
Then I die cut the tassel die (also from the For You Gift Card Holder Die Set) three times out of a green cardstock, twisted them to make tassels and inserted one into another making a tree. Which I finished off by adding a white loop and a “cap” (or whatever this piece that goes onto the tassel top called).
The tree I hung from the bag handle.
The tissue paper insert was made the same as in the previous holder.
I hope you like the ideas for using this set. Of course it can be used for all seasons and combined with elements from other die sets sky is the limit when it comes to different designs you can achieve using this set.
