Hi friends!
Today I’m excited to join Spellbinders Jane Davenport NEW Artomology + Making Faces Blog Hop.
This blog hop is celebrating the Making Faces and NEW Artomology products from Jane Davenport. You probably came from Amy Rysavy If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Spellbinders blog and see what other designers have created.
It was very interesting to play with products from this line. Definitely something unusual for me. I made two cards using products from both collections.
FLOATING FEATHERS & PALETTE PASTELS
For my first card I used the new Floating Feathers Stamp Set. I created a shimmery feathers pattern on a black cardstock.
I stamped the feathers using the Versamark ink, rubbed pastels from the Mineral Eyes Palette Pastel Set all over them, heat set with my Heat Tool. Pastel particles got stuck to the Versamark stamped impressions and heat setting helped to keep them there. I had pastels smudges all around the feathers which I removed by wiping with a dry cloth.
I should note that I made this background in several takes. I couldn’t see much of Versamark stamping before the pastels were rubbed over. So I was stamping one feather or a couple, rubbing over the pastels, heat setting them, wiping off the excess. And then repeated the same for the next feather(s).
Next I added gold accents using the Golden Age Waterproof Brush Pen. I traced all the feathers and also added gold strokes in all openings of the feathers design. After that I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base.
I die cut letters for the sentiment out of a white carfstock and gold glitter paper and stacked them with a slight offset. Followed by adhering them onto the card.
Lastly I added several Gold Confetti.
TENTALICIOUS AND CRAYONS
For my second card I used an awesome Tentalicious Die Set. These tentacles are so awesome and even a bit scary.
I die-cut them out of a black cardstock first. And then colored using the crayons from the Ocean Eyes Dramastick Waterproof Pencil Crayons Set. I was scribbling a little bit of color onto a die-cut and then smudging and blending the pigment with my fingers. I used Watching You (teal), Make Me Cry (blue) and Spark (white) crayons for that.
Next I adhered them onto a white card base which was previously splattered with the Black Licorice Silk.
Lastly I popped a sentiment white embossed on black.
