Altenew Build-A-Flower: Crocus Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew Build-A-Flower: Crocus Release Blog Hop!

You know the drill – the new month means a new Build-A-Flower product in Altenew world. This month we’re meeting a beautiful Crocus!

You probably came from Virginia Lu. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Altenew Card Blog and see what other members of Altenew design team and guest designers have created. There are so many beautiful projects from talented designers. Also you on each stop you you have a chance to win a prize.

CARD

This set is very beautiful, easy to work with and quite forgiving (I’m talking about not perfectly aligned layers situation). I made a card with a bit of a vintage feel using the new set.

Create a crocus birthday card using layering stamping. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

The card was very quick and easy to make. First I die-cut all elements of the set several time each out of a white cardstock.

Next I stamped the flowers in violet and “white”, leaves were stamped in green. All inks are linked below if you’re interested in exact colors I used. To make white flowers I skipped the first bottom layer and stamped the rest using the lightest gray inks I own – Morning Frost and Evening Gray.

I make a card base out of a Parchment Cardstock and added splatters of the Pure White Ink Spray onto it. After that I adhered all stamped die-cut elements onto it forming a floral bouquet.

I made a sentiment using stamps from the Birthday Builder Stamp Set by white embossing on black and then fussy cutting with my scissors. The sentiment then was popped onto the card using black adhesive foam squares.

Lastly I added several Snow Crystals.

I love this! The white speckles make me think of how crocus are usually coming up when there is still a touch of snow on the ground!

I love this card! When i think of crocus flowers, I think the first flower of spring…usually pushing it’s way through the lasgg of winter snow. This card, with the white splatters, reminded me of just that.
