Hi friends,
It’s that time of year when even me, who in general wants a winter to never end, enjoy the current season of Spring coming. Unfortunately with quite hot climate in NYC for me this season lasts like two weeks.
Anyways, while I’m in a Spring mood I’m making spring cards and today I want to share two made with the Spellbinders Small Die Of The Month of March.
This set is packed with dies enough to make a lot of different Spring scenes.
BUNNIES
Of course the first dies I reached for when just opened this kit are the bunnies. Aren’t they adorable??? I made a very cheerful and happy card using them.
Fir I made the background by blending the Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink in the top part of the panel and Squeezed Lemonade Oxide Ink in the bottom one. After that I added water splatters using the Distress Sprayer and blot it with a paper towel.
I die-cut several flowers out of a white cardstock, made pink centers for them by coloring with a pink COPIC throw a hole in the dies and adhered them onto the panel as a border between two blended colors.
I die-cut the bunnies out of white, colored the outline parts with a light gray marker, ear inside parts and noses were colored with pink. I made their eyes with a dot of a black liner. After that I made kind of backings by tracing an outline die-cut with a pencil onto a white cardstock and fussy cutting with my scissors. Next I adhered all parts onto these backings.
As far as accessories I blended the Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink onto a white cardstock and die-cut carrot roots and bows out of it. For the carrot “tails” I used a white cardstock covered with the Squeezed Lemonade Oxide Ink.
To assemble the card I popped the bunnies onto the panel, which in turn was foam mounted onto a white card base. Then I die-cut the sentiment out of white and adhered onto the card. Which was finished off my adding several clear droplets.
CARROTS
For my next card I made kind of a Spring garden scene of growing carrots.
The card is very quick and simple. First I cut a panel out of a kraft cardstock and added tiny splatters of a black ink spray. To achieve the spatters tininess I used my beloved Splatter Brush.
Next I took a white white cardstock strip and torn its bottom and top parts off. After that I stamped a sentiment in black onto it, tied a burlap twine around and foam mounted it onto the panel.
The panel then was foam mounted onto a rustic cream card base.
Next I die-cut several carrot pieces out of an orange and green cardstock, assembled the carrots and “planted” them into the white stripe my foam mounting with black thin adhesive foam squares.
I used the thin ones here so the carrots are on a bit lower level than the white stripe. And I opted to use black ones as they’re less visible if you look from the side. Yes, I’m weird when it comes to such details. I’m sure a rare person would turn a received card in all directions checking if foam adhesive is visible or popped elements layers are logical. But for me personally it’s important in my cards 🙂
