Hi friends,
Today I want to share several cards featuring Spellbinders Large Die Of The Month of November.
The set is perfect for making seasonal themed advent calendar, treat boxes, tags, gifts, cards. scrapbook pages, and more. You can check out this video on Spellbinders YouTube channel to see many possibilities for this set.
CHRISTMAS TAG AND A GIFT BOX
First of all I made of course I wanted to make something but a card. Since this set is meant to make other objects. So I made a tag in a shape of a Christmas Tree and a small gift/treat box.
For the tag I die-cut a tree base share out of a red cardstock and trimmed the bottom part (which would be scored back to make a standing tree). l also die-cut the top decorative tree element out of a white cardstock and adhered onto the red one.
I made another white die-cut the same way as I did the red one. This one is meant to write a message on.
I connected both parts together using a bakers twine. I simply made holes with a pick tool in star parts of both elements and fed the twine through them. To mask off the hole I made a star die-cut out of a white cardstock and foam mounted it on top of the red tree using thin foam squares.
I made the treat box in the same color wave. I die cut the side elements out of a white cardstock and the front and back out of a red one. And adhered them together to make a box.
I made two tree garland die-cuts out of a white cardstock and adhered them onto the red sides of the box. Trimming the top and bottom sides.
I also made a red tag with 25 number. Lastly I made holes in the box closing flaps, fed a bakers twine through them and the tag and tied a bow.
SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARD
And of course I wanted to make a card using this set. This one is very simple to make. And that’s what I like about it. Holiday season is a busy one and you may not have time to make time consuming cards. Or you may have time, but need to make like 200 cards. I truly believe fast card design are especially needed for holiday theme.
So here I made a tree by die-cutting the base out of light green (almost lime-ish) cardstock and the top part out of a red cardstock. Adhered them together to make a tree.
I made a 3 3/4 x 5 panel out of a rustic white cardstock and stamped a sentiment onto it in red. I also made a card base out of red cardstock.
Lastly I foam mounted the panel onto the card base and foam mounted the tree onto the panel. It added some interest not adding much to the time needed for this card making.

The tree die makes a great tag and gift box. The red cardstock pops with the white. You are right about needing cards that are quick to make!
