Today I’m excited to join Spellbinders September Blog Hop featuring several awesome holiday collections.
You probably came from Desiree Kuemmerle blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Spellbinders blog and see what other designers have created.
I made two cards featuring Zenspired Holidays By Joanne Fink.
CHRISTMAS OWL
For my first card I used a very cute Christmas Owl Stamp Set. This Owl cracks me up, so flirty lol.
I stamped and colored it with COPICs, added white pen highlights and fussy cut with my scissors.
I made the panel out of a white cardstock. It was inked with Faded Jeans and Black Soot Oxide Inks. Sprinkled with water first and then with a white spray. The panel I adhered onto a white card base. And popped the owl onto it.
For the sentiment I made a red ombre cardstock by coloring a white cardstock with red COPICs. Then I white embossed the sentiment onto it and popped it up onto the card.
SENTIMENTS WREATH
For my next card I used the Sentiment Wreath Stamp. Gorgeous and elegant and makes the whole card. There are many uses for this set. I went with the technique which I very love but don’t use very often – water bleaching of inked background.
I took a panel of a watercolor paper and made the background using wrinkle free technique and the Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint Oxides Inks.
Next I stamped the wreath with the Peeled Paint Oxides Ink and then white embossed on top.
Then I bleached out the are inside if the wreath outline. I was adding water with a brush to it, let the water do its thing and ink move and then blotted it with a paper towel.
To add some interest I also colored some details of the ribbon with Peeled Paint Oxides Ink.
Then the panel was foam mounted onto a white card base and several clear droplets were added to finish off the card.

I love both your cards-bright and bold colors for the owl and subtle touches of color with the wreath. I love that you kept the wreath fairly monochromatic, but kept more depth where the wreath is whild toning down the background. I love the subtlety of the coloring of the ribbon. I doubt I would have noticed if you had not pointed it out! Thank you so much.
