Spellbinders September Large Die Of The Month - 3 Halloween cards

Hi friends,

Today I want to share several cards featuring Spellbinders Large Die Of The Month of September.

The same as the small die this one is devoted to Halloween. The set has several cool dies that can be used to make a tea light lantern or a small goodie bag. And of course you can always make a card.

BOO

The first card is so simple. The kit has four dies to die cut square designs. They’re meant to die cut the mentioned lantern windows.

For this card I used the one with ghosts and BOO word incorporated between them. Which gives you both an image and sentiment.

I die cut this die out of white cardstock. Then I took the die that cuts a simple square and dry embossed it into the cardstock, making this embossed frame around the cut out design.

After that I cut a square panel out of this cardstock with about a quarter inch margins around the embossed frame.

I made a black square card base and popped my white panel onto it.

Easy breezy.

SPOOKY

Another die from the set that is all-sufficient is the one with a Jack O’Latern and SPOOKY word.

This I first die-cut out of white cardstock. Then I blended Black Soot Distress Ink onto the Die-cut edges and Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink onto the grumpy pumpkin. Yes, you heard this right – Distress Inks, not Oxides. As much as I love new (relatively new at this point) Oxides I still love using Distresses. One don’t replace another.

In this case I wanted move vivid ink blending so Distresses were my inks of choice. After I finished ink blending I added water splatters using Distress Sprayer and blotted with a paper towel.

After that I die-cut it with the square die.

I adhered the die-cut onto a white panel. I wrapped an orange twine around the bottom part of the panel and foam mounted it onto a white card base.

And several orange and black sequins finished off my card.

TRICK OR TREAT

For my last card I used the last two die-cut designs from the kit. I die-cut the cat and “trick or treat” designs out of a black cardstock and then trimmed a panel out of this cardstock with wide margins around the die-cut areas.

I made a white card base of the same size as my black panel and blended Seedless Preserves, Moved Lawn and Carved Pumpkin Distress Inks onto it. Sprayed with water, let the water work and ink move and then blotted with a paper towel.

I adhered the panel onto the card base and added several sequins of corresponding colors.

Hi, Awesome cards, I knew you would “knock it out of the park” as we say in US, hope you have heard that because it means like WOW you did AMAZING, STUNNING, Out of the box, Better than can be imagined!!! You know I am one of your biggest fan’s and I love all 3 of these cards, don’t really have a favorite they are ALL my favorite. I was hoping you were going to do Halloween cards as it is my FAVORITE holiday of the year and my favorite kind of cards to make. I have been off line again so I was hoping I didn’t miss them but looks like I did miss some, I see them on your side panel so I will have to check back after I finish checking my 1000 emails lol.
