Spellbinders April 2018 Blog Hop + Giveaway (CLOSED)

Wine Country by Stacey Caron. Cards by @craftwalks

Today I’m honored to join Spellbinders April 2018 Blog Hop. There will be 4 collections featured in this blog hop, fitting any taste. You don’t want to miss it.

You probably came from Olga Direktorenko. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Spellbinders blog and see what other designers have created. Also you on each stop you you have a chance to win a prize.

I will be sharing three cards made using dies from amazing collection Wine Country by Stacey Caron.

CHEERS

For my first car I used Wine Snippets Etched Dies. This set has several dies of very beautiful and detailed wine theme snippets. One of which I used in this card.

I decided to try die-cutting out of cork paper, wasn’t sure I would succeed as the die is pretty detailed and cork is a bit thicker. But the die cut it as a butter!

I made a panel out of Mulberry cardstock. Which I inked with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink and then sprayed with water using Distress Sprayer, to add texture. I like doing tone-on-tone inking with following water spraying, it adds kind of velvet texture to a cardstock.

The sentiment I also die-cut out of cork paper using Alphabet Die Set from Small Die Of The Month Club. After that all cork elements were adhered onto the panel, which was easy to do as this paper it sticky back.

Lastly I popped up the panel onto a white card base.

SCREW IT

For me next card I used another snippet from Wine Snippets Etched Dies. Which I die-cut out of Mulberry Cardstock.

I also die-cut a label out of Licorice Cardstock using Nestabilities Labels 59 Etched Dies and adhered the snippet onto it.

I made a card base out of rustic created cardstock and added some splatters of Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. After that I foam mounted the label onto the card base.

I die-cut letters for the sentiment and adhered them onto the card. The sentiment on this card is a bit controversial I know. But I think it can be a great encouraging card for someone with good sense of humor 😉

COGRATULATIONS

For my last card I used Card Creator Time For Wine A2 Card Front Etched Dies. This set has two dies – one cut a very beautiful cover design and another die-cuts a panel of corresponding size. They can be used both together or independently.

For my card I used the cover die which die-cut out of Solar White Cardstock. Then I snipped its edges with scissors to modify it a bit.

I made a simple watercolor wash onto a watercolor panel so it located under the bottle and glass of the cover plate. After that I adhered the die-cut design onto the panel. And run it through my Platinum die-cutting machine. I did it for two reasons. To flatten watercolor panel which warped when I was making the wash. And also this helped to pressed the die-cut and adhere it better.

I white embossed a sentiment onto a black cardstock stripe and popped it up onto the bottle.

I also added several clear droplets to accentuate the card.

Awesome, amazing cards! Love your use of cork for the 1st card, very unique and creative. And what fun with the “Screw It” sentiment on the 2nd. The selective background coloring on the last card was excellent. The Wine Country collection has been added to my Want List!

Ok, so it’s a tad controversial, but every now and then, for someone you know well, for “those” occasions (because really, who doesn’t have them?) ….it’s unexpected and funny. I am not a wine person so much, and it made me laugh! I love the splashy color of the last one. Thank you.

Svitlana I did wonder how you did the second card, what a great idea to cut it out of cork paper. It is so effective. That one is my favourite but they are all great design in their own right because of the different techniques they demonstrate. Thank you for sharing these with us crafters. :O)
