ALTENEW ARTIST MARKERS SET D
The new set of markers includes incredible teals, browns and purples color of the Altenew color family.
For my project today I used all markers from the new set.
The card itself is relatively simple, design wise. It took me some time to make it though. Of course almost all time was spent on coloring 🙂
To create the floral cluster I was using stamps from the Garden Treasure and Peony Bouquet Stamp Sets. I worked one element at a time. First I stamp an element. I used the Emerald, Cosmic Berry or Espresso Dye Ink Pads for this. I used my mini MISTI for stamping. And after stamping I was leaving a stamp mounted in the MISTI.
Then I colored an element using markers of the corresponding to the stamped outline colors. I did basic light to dark, dark to light coloring to create the base coloring. And then was adding strokes with the tip of the darkest marker. After I finished coloring an element – I stamped the outlines again (remember – I still had the outline stamp mounted, so it was easy to stamp exactly at the same spot). Then I masked an element made out of a masking paper and moved to the next one. Until I built the cluster.
Many-many moons later, when I finished with building and coloring the floral cluster – I hand cut it with my scissors. When I temporary adhered in onto a Jet Black cardstock and hand cut a black “shadow” piece out of it using the floral cluster edges as a guide. Then I foam mounter the cluster onto the black shadow piece using black foam squares.
I made a panel out of a Pale Gray Cardstock and popped the floral piece onto it using black foam squares. Along with a sentiment white embossed on a black stripe.
Then I took a white card base and adhered a stripe of a patterned paper from the Celestial Paper Pack to the bottom. Lastly I foam mounted the panel onto the card.
