Spellbinders | January Small Die Of The Month – Paper Dolls

Hi friends,

Today I want to share two cards made using Spellbinders Small Die Of The Month of January.

This month small die First Crush is so much fun. I reminds me paper dolls activity from my childhood.

Even though this set is called Small Die – it has so many dies to make a lot of elements. You can make a girl and a boy along with their clothes. And the variations of those are almost endless. There is also a balloon and its string.

This set is perfect to use with kids, or to make kid card. Or any card really. You can make any person you know using this set (choosing a corresponding cardstock for skin and hair) to make a personalized card.

I made two cards using this set.

WHAT TO WEAR?

The idea of my first card is a girl who is dreaming about new dress or top (or is trying to decide what to wear).

I die-cut the girl head part, assembled it and cut off the part below “nose”. Then I adhered it in to the bottom part of a kraft card base.

Then I made several pieces of clothing by die-cutting them out of different patterned papers. Had so much fun assembling these dresses.

I adhered all clothing above the girl and finished off the card by popping a sentiment white embossed if black.

WEDNESDAY ADAMS

My second card turned out to be a bit gothic.

I started by wanting to make a girl with white face and black hair wearing a blue (my fave color) sparkly dress. As far as hair style goes I chose braids. And ended up having a Wednesday Adams lol.

So I continued the image making her stocking striped and adding black sleeves to the dress.

I placed her onto a dark gray card base splattered with White Spray.

The balloon I decided to die-cut out of the same blue glitter cardstock as I did the dress, for the string I went black.

Lastly I popped a sentiment stamped onto a white stripe.
