Altenew watercolor Markers. Two card out of one background. Cards by Svitlana Shayevich

Hello and welcome to Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop. Today we’re celebrating the release of a new Altenew product – Watercolor Brush Markers.

You probably came from Altenew Scrapbook Blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Altenew blog and see what other members of Altenew design team and guest designers have created. There are so many beautiful projects from talented designers. Also you on each stop you you have a chance to win a prize.

ALTENEW WATERCOLOR BRUSH MARKERS

Create stunning works of art with our Watercolor Brush Markers! The barrel is filled with water-based color, and coordinates with our line of inks. The flexible, yet sturdy bristles on the brush tip allow you to form both broad and fine strokes. Color can be applied straight from the marker, or diluted with water for a softer look.

TWO CARDS OUT OF ONE BACKGROUND

I did two cards pulling BOGO deal. When I say BOGO I mean this “buy one get one free”.

You all probably had situations when after making one card you have leftovers enough to make another card. I most often have some good negative or positive die-cuts left which totally qualify for another card.

Or you can make a background and use a part of it for a card and have another part left that can make one more card too.

I used to save all such pieces “for later” and this later never ever came. Like literally – I didn’t use ANY such leftovers “later”. So recently I made a rule for myself to make the second card right away. And usually it doesn’t take so much more time to make. So this process I call BOGO deal.

Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers. Two card out of one background. Cards by Svitlana Shayevich

I made a rainbow background using markers from the set.

And then die-cut some flowers and leaves out of it using the Rose Flurries 3D Die Set. Which I also die-cut out of a watercolor paper. I adhered the panel onto a white card base and inserted the white die-cuts in.

I popped a sentiment white embossed on black onto the card and added several Onyx Crystals to finish it off.

I used the die-cuts left from the previous card to make another card. I adhered them onto a white card base.

To add more interest I was adhering some die-cuts flat and some foam mounted.

And I totally didn’t like how card turned out. The die-cuts didn’t look very well spread on the card. My first thought was to discard it. But then I decided to try saving it. By adding splatters of Jet Black Ink Spray. Which totally worked and made it much better looking.

I added the sentiment as on the first card, but I multiplied it 4 times. To add more interest and fill those empty areas a bit more.

A black sentiment stripe with white embossing is another winning element. Works every single time!
