Altenew | Refresh Your Alcohol Markers Blog Hop + Giveaway. Video (CLOSED)

Hello and welcome to Refresh Your Alcohol Markers Blog Hop. We are releasing Artist Markers Refills!

You probably came from Laura Jane  blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Altenew Card Blog and see what other members of Altenew design team and guest designers have created. There are so many beautiful projects from talented designers. Also you on each stop you you have a chance to win a prize.

I made several backgrounds using water marbling technique. You can check it out in the video below.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube

Basically I was dripping the refills into the water, placing a paper onto the water and picking it up right after that. This technique is quite easy and fast. It works on both watercolor paper and cardstock. And you always get an unique result.

I made three cards using the backgrounds created with this technique.

DIMENSIONAL INLAID SENTIMENT

I wanted to save this background so I went with a dimensional inlaid sentiment design. I really like the background and didn’t want to “waste” it cutting off some of it. You know that feeling when you cry cutting some design paper for example, right?

The YOU word is made using Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set.

For the dimensional part I used a sticky back black foam.

I added the rest of the sentiment white embossed on black.

And finished off the card using several Onyx Crystals.

NARROW PANEL

I used a blue marbled piece to make a panel for a white card.

I added a Leafy Garland die-cut along with a hugs word from the Script Words Die Set.

It’s a very easy card design. If you have ready backgrounds on hand you can quickly make a card by adding a couple of die-cuts.

USING MARBLED BACKGROUND AS A BASE FOR STAMPED IMAGES

And I used the green background to die cut two flower bunches using Starry Flowers Stamp and Die sets.

I adhered the flowers onto a card base made out of Parchment Cardstock.

And I added white embossed sentiment, black splatters and Onyx crystals to finish off the card.

As I already had “coloring” from the marbled background I didn’t need to add any additional coloring to the die-cuts. This design is very easy as well.

These are a delightful twist on CAS. The black dimension behind the sentiment on the first one really helps it stand out, and I love the images just stamped onto already colored paper and die cut. It’s such a different look than standard coloring, which just makes for really interesting cards. Thank you for sharing these ideas with us!
