LEAF CANOPY TUNNEL
For my first card I used the new amazing Leaf Canopy Stamp Set. And the card I made is not a very typical but a dimensional tunnel one card-shadow box. Usually I don’t make such cards, but in case of this set I wanted to create a lot of dimension and layers of these leaves.
I started by stamping several branches onto a Solar White Cardstock using green inks from Green Meadows Ink Set. To make the stamped leaves a little bit more interesting I did stamping using two shades of green. First I stamped using a lighter ink. Then I applied a darker ink onto a stamp and removed some of it with a wipe and stamped again. Of course i was using a stamp positioning tool to achieve it. I created branches of two shades, darker (stamped with Hunter Green and Just Green Inks) and lighter (Just Green and Sweet Leaf Inks).
After all stamping was done I die-cut the leaves using the matching dies.
Next I cut out three panels out of Moonrock Cardstock to create a shadow box. The size of one panel was 10.75 x 4.5 and I score it at 0.75, 5.25, 6, 10.5 marks. This panel was used as the outer layer of my shadow box. The other two panels sized 5 x 4.5, scored at 0.75 and 4.75 marks. Those went inside of the box.
Using three circle dies of different sizes from Halftone Circles Die Set I die-cut three circle windows in the panels, the bigger in the outsize panel and two smaller one in the inside ones.
After that I adhered leaves branches die-cut around die-cut windows of all three panels. On this point I was placing one panel on top another to check to they will look combined together. I tried to placed leaves in different spots so they don’t cover each other too much.
I also added a sentiment white embossed on a black stripe.
After I was happy with the amount and position of all leaves I assembled the box. First I adhered one inside panel flaps to the top and bottom parts of the outside part in the distance of 0.25 from the edge, then I adhered the second inside panel in 0.25 from the first one. Finally I adhered two opposite edges of the outside panel parts together to form a “box” of 4.5 x 4.5.
Also I adhered one flap to the back side to write a message on, as this is still a card, just in a shape of a box.
With one branch adhered to it to decorate a bit.
Even though in standing position this is a “box” it still can be folded and mailed in an envelope.
The size of the folded card is 4.5 x 5.25.
I don’t make such cards very often as they seem to be much more work. But it’s not really. Maybe a bit more work, but the result is worth it. And it took me just one letter sheet of cardstock to make this box.
SWEETEST PEAS
The new Sweetest Peas Set is probably my very favorite from this release. I really like its style. The moment I saw it I knew i would make it in blue, gold and black.
I really like this combination I general, it feels almost royal for me. But the shape of these flowers I think works great with this combo.
I started by stamping flowers onto a Solar White Cardstock using Permanent Black Ink. I was using a stamp positioning tool for this and after stamping a flower I was leaving the stamp mounted in the tool. Then I was coloring a flower using Artists Markers, placing the cardstock back in the positioning tool, stamping over with Clear Embossing Ink, adding Antique Gold Embossing Powder and heat setting it.
This way, described above, I did all the flowers which were die-cut afterwards using the matching dies. To get rid of white borders that die-cutting with matching dies creates I filled the borders with black waterbased marker.
Then I adhered all the flowers onto a Jet Black Card Base.
For the sentiment I die-cut word hugs using a die from the Script Words Die Set out of Gold Mirror Cardstock once as well as out of Jet Black Cardstock several times. I cut the letter h off the all black die-cuts and then adhered all die-cuts together with the gold one on the top. Next I adhered the sentiment onto the card.
Lastly I added several Gold Confetti.
LAND OF THE FREE
Now it’s just the right time to start making 4th of July cards or other Americana crafts and the new Land Of The Free Set can be handy for this purpose.
I made a very simple, clean and bright card. This design can work for a home decor or some other Americana DIY too.
First I blended some Sapphire Ink onto a white cardstock and die-cut 4 using a die from Bold Numerals Die Set. After that I white embossed some stars from Land Of The Free Set.
For the letters I blended Crimson Ink onto a white cardstock, white embossed pinstripe background from the new Pinstripe Stamp Set and die-cut letters using Fine Alphabet Die Set.
I stamped the eagle using Espresso Ink and die-cut it with the matching die.
Then I adhered all elements onto a white card base.
I made a panel out of Navy Cardstock and clear embossed several stars onto it. Lastly I adhered the panel onto the card base with a slight shift, just to add a bit of interest. I’m a big fan of very clean cards… when other people make them. When I make them myself I often feel something is missing. And this trick with crooked panel helps sometimes 😉

Wow Svitlana, three cards all very, very different. Altenew have released a great set of stamp sets/dies etc. in this particular release I can see why you had to make three designs. The first being the leaf shadow card, I have recently made one of these for the first time and I absolutely loved the dimension I could achieve with the different layers. I loved how the leaves turned out too using the different coloured greens. The next one well what can I say but “WOW” the Sweet peas look amazing outlined in the gold embossing powder on the black card stock. Great TOP TIP about taking off the lower layers of the ‘H’ in the sentiment because it was level with the flower not straight onto the card stock. Finally, the 4th of July card, so very different to your other two but again a wonderful design using just what was necessary to create this card. I love the image of the eagle that you chose that is coming into land on top of the ‘TH’ of ‘4th’. It is a card design that says exactly what you want it to say Svitlana. Thank you for sharing all these card designs with us crafters. :O)
