Hi friends!
Today I’m honored to join The Ton Spring 2018 Release Blog Hop.
The Ton has 14 new stamps, coordinating dies and 5 standalone dies for their new Spring 2018 Release which includes up to two free gifts with purchases (GWP). For more information on The Ton’s incentive gifts, head over to The Ton’s blog. New release products can be purchased now and all new release orders will begin to ship on Monday, April 9.
You probably came from Brenda Noelke. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at The Ton’s blog.
LARGE DAHLIA
For my first card I used beautiful Large Dahlia 1 Stamp Set. This set has several beautiful outlined floral images, perfect for coloring. That’s actually what I did here – colored the biggest dahlia using waterbased markers.
The flower was stamped using Deep Sapphire Dye ink, for leaves I used Everglade Moss Dye ink.
I colored with Arteza markers, which I bought recently and now am testing (and loving them so far).
After coloring the flower and leaves I decided to add small blue shades which turned out with almost completely covered blue background lol. Well.. I wanted more clean and white card and it turned out more dramatic. But it’s ok with me. I love blue and I love dramatic cards.
I tied a blue hemp twine around the panel and foam mounted the sentiment (white embossed on a black stripe) onto it. Lastly I added several white crystals and foam mounted the panel onto a rustic cream card base.
BEAUTIFUL BETTAS
It’s not a surprise that I’m a sucker for realistic layering stamps! New The Ton Beautiful Bettas Steamp Set is definitely one of those. I made a card with dual red and blue design using this amazing set.
The red betta was stamped using Soft Garnet Dye, Red Sangria Hybrid and Lipstick Red Dye inks from The Ton. For the red part of the background I blended Soft Garnet Dye and added splatters of Lipstick Red Dye ink. The same ink was used to stamp the sentiment in the right top corner.
For the blue betta were used The Ton Cali Blue Dye, Azurite Dye, Deep Sapphire Dye inks. Cali Blue Dye ink was blended onto the background in the right bottom corner. And splatters of Deep Sapphire Dye ink were added in that area too. For the blue sentiment I used Deep Sapphire Dye ink as well.
I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base and added several clear droplets to finish off the card.
I like how dual this card looks (if it’s the correct way to say). I was hesitating where would I put a sentiment and decided to make two mirror ones, since everything else is mirrored too. And I’m glad I decided to make this experiment. I really like how it turned out.

Three new release stamps will be given away to random commenters from the hop participant blogs. To qualify, you must leave a comment on The Ton Blog Hop post. The comment period will close on Friday, April 6 at 5pm. Winners will be announced thereafter on The Ton’s blog.
