Spellbinders | Lavender Trike

Hope your week is going great. Today I want to share two cards made using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Lavender Trike Etched Die. hey both are of similar design and include using watercolor. At the same time they look quite different.

For the first card I watercolored the trike itself. To do this I die-cut it out of watercolor paper and didn’t take the die-cut out of the watercolor paper right away. It was left inside and kind of held by the paper which made it much more convenient to watercolor it. After that I colored it, let dry and finally took out of the paper.

I die-cut the trike out of black cardstock and adhered the watercolored one onto the black on with a slight shift.

Next I made a simple background. I simply wet a watercolor panel with clean water and completely colored it with very diluted black watercolor paint, applying it in only vertical direction. In other words I was painting strokes of different intensity. After the background dried out I added some black splatters.

Next the background panel was foam mounted onto a white card base. The trike was adhered onto it.

I finished off the card by foam mounting a sentiment.

For the second card I only watercolored the background panel.

Again I first applied clean water onto a watercolor panel and then colored different sections using different rainbow colors. After first layer dried out I added some strokes here and there, to make it more uneven and messier. I let this layer dry as well and added some splatters of the same colors.

The trike was die-cut out of black cardstock and adhered onto the panel. Which in turn I foam mounted onto a white card base.

I foam mounted a sentiment and several white crystals finished off the card.
