Altenew | Build-A-Flower: Carnation+ Giveaway

Hello there!

Today is Altenew Build-A-Flower product of the month mini-release. This month it’s Build-A-Flower: Carnation. It’ll be only available as a bundle, stamp and die sets won’t be sold separately.

This month’s build-a-flower set features a beautiful carnation. The meaning of carnation includes fascination, distinction, and love, and its use in art and decor dates back to ancient Greek and Roman times. With their ruffled appearance and classic beauty, these flowers possess a charm and allure that continues to captivate people around the globe. Alongside the multi-step carnation, we have included two-step leaves, berries, and a cluster of tiny flowers that can be used as filler images for your flower arrangements! The set also includes three kindness sentiments that are great for any occasion.

Altenew is celebrating this mini release sharing inspiration from design team and also by giving away certificates to Altenew store.

For this flower of the month my color of choice was light pink and I placed the flowers onto a bit vintage or light grunge background. I like the contrast between soft colors of the flowers and the background.

I started by stamping the flowers using Blush, Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy and Corral Berry Inks. Along with stamping leaves using Evergreen, Forest Leaves and Frayed Leaves inks. Then I die-cut all elements using matching dies.

I trimmed a panel of Solar White Cardstock and created the background onto it. I blended Dark Chocolate Ink onto the bottom part, Mango Smoothie and Rocky Shore Inks onto the top part. Then I stamped leaves and filler flower cluster using Dark Chocolate Ink for the bottom part, and Rocky Shore for the top one. To make the background a bit more interesting I also added splatters of Warm Sunshine Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray.

I adhered the flowers onto the panel, which in turn foam mounted onto a white card base. Added a sentiment made using stamps from Birthday Builder Stamp Set and several crystals to accentuate the card.
