Altenew • Stamp Focus: Under The Cherry Blossom Tree

Hi friends!

Today I want to share three cards made using new incredible Under The Cherry Blossom Tree Stamp Set. You may see them already the other day over at Altenew blog.

In my home country cherries and sour cherries are ones of the main summer berries. We make preserves using them, pierogies (which in Ukrainian are called “vareniki”;)), pies, drinks. Of course a big amount of them are consumed in “as is” form. Obviously there are a lot of cherry trees that can be found all around the country. My parents have several of them and cherry picking was one of my summer duty when I was a child. Although cannot say I liked this duty haha. I’m not a big garden person.

But when I think “cherry blossoms” the first picture that comes to my mind is hanami – Japanese tradition of watching Sakura blossoms. Probably that’s why all three my cards have Oriental feel.

MOON SCENE

For my first card I combined the stamp set in focus with oldie but goodie To The Moon. I stamped the moon onto Solar White panel using Ocean Waves and Desert Night Crisp Inks. Masked it off and inked the whole panel with Desert Night and Dusk Crisp Inks.

Then I stamped the cherry branch using Espresso, Dark Chocolate and Cotton Candy Crisp Inks and cut it using matching die. I white embossed the sentiment in the bottom part of the panel using Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder.

The branches were foam mounted onto the panel. Which in turn was foam mounted onto a white card base.

GOLD AND WHITE EMBOSSING ON BLACK

I couldn’t make a stamp focus post without devoting one card to embossing. I’m a big embossing enthusiast and new Altenew Embossing Powders are right up my alley. So my second card is made using them.

Onto a Jet Black panel I first embossed a couple of cherry branches using Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder. And then I embossed blossoms using Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder.

The sentiment was also white embossed and then the panel was foam mounted onto a white card base.

WATERCOLOR

My last card for today is a watercolor one. I simply stamped several outline branches onto a watercolor panel and color then using my watercolors.

Stamped a sentiment using Espresso Crisp Ink and adhered the panel onto a white card base.

I had so much fun playing with this stamp set. It’s very beautiful, the cherry branches are so realistic and layers are so easy to align (as always with Altenew layered stamps).
