Hello and welcome to Studio Katia 1st Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!
You probably came from my cardmaking idol and techniques queen – Jennifer McGuire blog (you have to see the card she’s created, just wow!). You can also start from the beginning at Studio Katia blog and see what other members of our design team and guest designers sharing (and also you have a chance to win a prize).
To celebrate this event I decided to make a birthday shaker using Birthday Lions stamp set.
I started with creating shaker part of the card. First I die cut two circles using small balloon die from Dotted Balloons set out of Solar White panel. These are serving as my shaker windows. Two pieces of plastic were adhered to the back side of the panel using Glossy Accents glue.
Next I die cut the same balloon shapes out of white fun foam with Stick-It adhered on the both side (it’s a very thin and is perfect to use for die-cutting). They were adhered then over the plastic pieces to give dimension.
I placed the mix of Iridescent Clear Seeds and Pink Lemonade Fusion Sequins into one shaker and mix of Iridescent Clear Seeds and Light Blue Metallic Fusion Sequins into another.
For the bottom parts of the shakers I inked two pieces of white cardstock using blue and pink distress inks. And adhered them on top of dimensional foam parts (I simply removed the paper part of Stick-It, uncovering adhesive layer and placed my inked cardstock on top).
Then I stamped, colored and cut many images from Birthday Lions stamp set and created a fun birthday scene with them.
Finally I cut a banner using a die from Darling Ribbon And Dotted Frames Creative Die Set set and stamped the sentiment onto it. This die is a bit longer, I made it smaller using partial die-cutting technique.
This card is so unusual for me;) Too happy and colorful haha. But I thought it will be perfect for the birthday blog hop.
Initially I didn’t mean it to be gender specific. I should probably say – dual gender. I just choose pink and blue colors for shaker parts (with no secret thought) and then just went with these colors.
I think this idea can work for twins birthday or maybe baby shower.
