Hey!
There is a new CAS challenge in the blog I design for – chalkboard. You know how much I love this theme. So couldn’t stop after making one card and made 4 more :))
The first is the fall one. Unusual for me. First it has a lot of yellow which I hate lol. But with the second thought .. I like yellow when it’s a part of fall colors. With oranges, reds, browns… Also I used two pieces of PP here, which is also unusual for me.
The next two – positive and negative expression of the same idea. Watercolor background resisted by clear embossing, which I used to cut letters and top and bottom borders of the card. “Fireworks” on the background made by Hero Arts Starbursts stamp. Originally it has floral meaning I believe, but I masked stems and made fireworks.
But the background for the card above I didn’t make from the first try. I failed the first piece. Not failed like completely spoiled, but made rainbow in the wrong direction lol. I could have put this piece in the “special” place where I store such backgrounds that didn’t make into a card right away. But in fact I NEVER use any of these backgrounds. So decided to use it right away. And this time chalkboard part is letters and the card base.
Then I decided to experiment a bit. Recently I was thinking of all those supplies I have that are not very suitable for CAS style. But this is the style I work in now. So it would be great to use some non-CAS supplies on a CAS card. Magnolia Tildas are one of those I’d never thought to use for clean and simple. But I have some of them, and what is more sad – I almost didn’t use any of them. So decided to try. And you know.. I actually like how it turned out. Think I need to try such things more. This Tim Holtz tinsel.. not so CAS supply as well but I think it fits in this card.
The last one. Even more experimental 🙂 Tim Holtz chalkboard technique, using crystal embossing powder and a real chalk. I should say that from some point I like this card the most. Because it gives the MOST realistic chalkboard look. And touch 🙂
Thank you for visiting.
